Starling Marine is excited to introduce you to the all-new 280 Dauntless from Boston Whaler. This newest model completes the full evolution of the famed builder's iconic, multifunctional center-console bay boat series. True to its family name, the newest model empowers you to take on adventures fearlessly and explore uncharted territory with confidence. Plus, with a wide range of packages available, boaters can choose the right propulsion.

This new 'Whaler is not simply an updated model with a couple new options to replace the outgoing 270 Dauntless. The all-new 280 is an innovative and well-thought-out boat in many ways - one of the coolest is the fact that she can be powered by a single high-horsepower outboard engine or configured with twins. This new model has a long list of options, allowing an owner to build anything from a basic boat to one loaded with amenities and options. No matter how you spec your new 280 Dauntless, this all-new model is ready for every on-water adventure -- not just fishing.

Power options include Mercury's reliable V8 outboard in twin configurations, rated at either 250 or 300 horsepower each. Single engine options include Mercury's high-output, supercharged inline 6-cylinder outboard rated at 350 or 400 horsepower. Any configuration produces greater than 2 mpg cruise efficiency with single configurations returning 45 to 48 mph top speed and twin configurations boasting top speeds from 54 to 58 mph. Another unique feature of the 280 Dauntless is an optional fold-out patio offering nearly 8 square feet of deck space extended out from the portside of the cockpit. There is also a detachable boarding ladder that stows close at hand for quick deployment. While this patio beckons many adventures including snorkeling and diving or simply soaking your feet at sunset, it also includes some clever safety features. When the patio is deployed at rest, the engines automatically shutdown. Plus, if the patio is unlatched or deployment is attempted while underway, an alarm will sound.

Additional innovations and thoughtful features include the aft facing helm bench which still offers a seating surface for the captain when the bench is facing aft. The optional windlass also conceals a telescoping boarding ladder for days at the beach and island hopping. The helm can be fitted with a full windshield and wiper or a half windscreen and the optional hardtop T-top is fitted for watersports with a tow eye. The hardtop can also accommodate a Sureshade awning to extend sun protection for guests in the cockpit. Plus, a transom bench offers comfort when deployed or a generous aft casting platform when stowed, and a 19-gallon transom livewell is within quick reach.

There are simply too many features and options to list here, but rest assured, the new 280 Dauntless is not just last decade's model with a few new color options. It's a fresh take with new innovative features on Boston Whaler's successful do-anything Dauntless model line. Get to Starling Marine to build your new 'Whaler today!
